I got invited to the launch of a purified water here in the Philippines. With that said, I thought it was just going to be a casual event. But good thing, I felt like dressing up that night because it was the most posh water event I’ve ever been to! How posh you say? Rockwell Tent glistened in color and shimmer as beauty, fashion, lifestyle bloggers and makeup lovers headed on to celebrate colour!

The venue made me miss my dear friend Mica who is currently in the UK, watching Viva Forever!  Unfair!  But I’m so excited and happy (and inggit) for her!  The tent was painted with vibrant UK colours.  Colours ranged frim highstreet hues of hot pink to London bus red and the golden sheen of the Beatles.  Plus, we got to shoot selfies of ourselves inside a photoboot 😛

One way to describe the Collection is that it is adventurous.  Browsing through the makeup sets and finally getting to have my own, made me conclude that this affordable makeup brand is great for those who are starting to play and experiment with makeup.  My blogger and makeup artist friend Bambi who was with me in the event guided me through her favorite items in the rack and that included the concealer (which I will also use soon) and their blush.

One thing I want to try is their BIG FAKE Mascara which you can buy only at P399.  I’ll tell you if it does what it promises!

Fell in love with a stranger (may ganon? joke lang!) more of like, grabbed a stranger and danced with him (so he can save us from some jeje trying to *BS* me and my friend)

Swam by the beach at night! (shhhhhh!!!)

Ran out of clothes and become creative.

Won a random spinning elephant contest!

Took paraw sailing to a different level, walked by the edge of the boat’s stabilizers and high fived someone from another boat (Lance DeOcampo) while running!

Danced on top of the DJ’s stage!

Me and my friends arrived on April 27.  We were warming up for the Labor Day weekend festivities.

as the labor day weekend comes close and closer, more parties, more friends, more fun!

The only thing I love about beach parties: you don’t have to wear heels, you can dance barefoot, you wear comfortable clothing (uh-huh) and you get to swim when it gets too hot and malagkit!

Best part: you don’t have to drive home!  You can just sleep by the sand and no one cares! (I kid :P)

at Sun down, the party people of boracay were treated to an All Out Music Festival with performances from some of the country’s finest artists to celebrate youthful victories. Bands and DJs that rocked the event are The Oktaves, Yolanda Moon, Brigada, Funk Avy, Callum David, Scratchmark, Thea, and David Ardiente.

We had to say goodbye to Boracay on Saturday, but our journey didn’t end there!

To embody our theme for this week to “LIVE ALL OUT,”  we flew to Cebu just to eat Zubuchon!!!

This was the night I surrendered to the music of the night

I’m not a big theatre fan, but ever since I’ve seen good productions when I moved here in Manila, I started to be amazed with this industry!  Like “Where have you been all my life!?”  When I heard Phantom of the Opera is going to show in the Philippines I was ecstatic!

The Venue

Can I just say, I’ve fallen for the characters.  And when you’re watching it, it just affects you in every way possible.  It’s all about passion and unrequited love which I’m sure a lot of people can relate to.

I haven’t seen any plays or movies of the Phantom of the Opera yet so I had the advantage of discovering the story on a very nice setting at the comforts of my city – in CCP.

The Actors

Yes, I’m a theatre noob and hearing about it, hearing about the songs and watching in live with the great actors was really something! 

That last line was hard for me not to be emotionally involved.  The build-up of the characters were timely as expected but in general, you’d find yourself transported into their world.  At least that was how it felt for me.

I was also able to go to the Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.  It was great, and a good snap of the Phantom of the Opera through the songs, but seeing it in the actual set was amazing, with my favorite lines…

Costumes, Set and Transition

Great costumes, great set.  No fancy LCD screens shimmering to different backdrops.  It was old school push and pull sets.  I was impressed at the seemingly floating alley / bridge. 

Romantic Scenes

Complete with the Gondola scene, the music, and the acting – it was perfect.  Romantic!  I thought it would be overly corny, I was very fond of the Chemistry between the actors.  Even if we weren’t seated right at front you could feel it.

And when they did the scene with them 3, and with this song:

Sigh… it was very hard for me to write this post without being emotionally involved all over again! I suggest you watch it yourself.  It’s been selling quite good that they decided to extend it twice now until October 14 2012!  I heard tickets are selling fast!

The very controversial Monster Ball concert still pushed through despite protests.  I am one of those who went to watch the spectacular production that Lady Gaga and the crew has prepared.  IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT! 

The SM Mall of Asia Arena used for the first time to house the Lady Gaga Monster Ball concert.

I wasn’t prepared for the concert coz I decided to go watch just the day itself. Good thing I have some extra clothes by my car. The best of how I can look for a concert lol. And the bandage wrapped around my arm to hide that nasty bruise I just got. I hope it rather looks edgy and mysterious. Like DJ Mike was so eager to find out what’s wrapped inside the band.

Lady Gaga was quite emotional for the duration of the concert.  After singing the first few parts of the controversial “Judas”, the crowd cheered and danced and she said “Oh, you like this song huh…”  The song “Judas” is one of the songs people are protesting to saying it’s blasphemous etc. But Gaga explained that this song is just a metaphor of loving someone despite them betraying you.  And hasn’t this really happened to some of us in real life? 

There were threats from protesters saying they would sue Gaga if there were any acts of indecency and any form of actions that are unnaccpetable to the Christian community.

I was bracing myself the entire night for something weirder than life GAGA acts but hey – I’m not worried about GAGA, I’m more worried about other pressing matters our country is facing and the criminals on loose and not to mention, the very corrupt government.

I think all these protests just gained Gaga more noise, more spotlight to showcase her “REAL SELF” and she says (here we go, Lady Gaga Quotes from Monster Ball tour Manila 2012)

The Malacañang Palace was open for the public in the time of Corazon Aquino, the country’s first lady President.  Due to heavy security concerns, we can’t stroll along the compounds freely anymore but this documentary will take you inside the Palace.  It’s very interesting because the public knows so little about what’s going on there.

This special won’t only be played on local Nat Geo, but it will air soon in Southeast Asia and the rest of the World.  Congratulations to National Geographic Channel and Marnie Manicad productions for a successful documentary!
