During my two weeks on Bumble BFF, I matched with a few individuals who shared some of my interests. One was an avid ballet enthusiast, but our conversations never quite progressed to the point of scheduling a dance class together. Another match expressed a desire to visit Universal Studios, but financial constraints seemed to hinder our plans. While I suggested alternative budget-friendly activities, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that she was expecting me to cover her expenses.

Then there was the one who was more interested in building her Instagram profile than in genuine friendship. While I understand the appeal of social media, I’ve grown weary of its superficiality and the pressure to constantly curate one’s online presence.

After a series of these experiences, I decided to uninstall Bumble BFF. While I appreciate the technological advancements that connect us in various ways, I’ve come to realize that virtual interactions often fall short of fostering authentic connections.

I yearned for the warmth and camaraderie of a real community, so I ventured beyond the digital realm and joined a hiking group. This decision proved to be a turning point. Surrounded by like-minded individuals who shared a passion for the outdoors, I felt a sense of belonging that was missing from my Bumble BFF encounters.

I also stepped out of my comfort zone and attended an art party hosted by someone I barely knew. Despite my initial apprehension, I followed my intuition and found myself surrounded by genuine and creative individuals who shared my artistic interests.

These experiences reaffirmed my belief that genuine connections are forged through shared experiences and mutual interests, not through carefully crafted profiles and fleeting conversations on apps.

So, I’ve decided to bid farewell to Bumble BFF and dating apps altogether. I’ve come to realize that the illusion of endless options often leads to desensitization and hinders the formation of meaningful connections. While I’ve met many people online and successfully built a community and esports team as a Twitch and PUBG partner, I’m not suggesting that technology is inherently evil. Productive ventures and genuine friendships can still flourish through it, and I deeply value the connections I’ve made.

However, I’ve become cautious about dispersing my energy to individuals who may not align with my vibe. I’ve consciously chosen to protect my energy and avoid diluting it any further. It’s a decision aimed at nurturing genuine connections and preserving the quality of my interactions.

My current goal is to cultivate self-sufficiency and embrace the possibility of living a fulfilling life on my own. While society often dictates a path toward marriage and parenthood, I’m embracing the idea that my path may lie in advocating for personal fulfillment and contributing to society through other avenues, such as volunteering or charity work.

To my future self, I offer this advice:

1. Embrace the power of real-world interactions. Step outside your comfort zone and engage in activities that align with your interests. You’ll find that genuine connections often blossom in unexpected places.

2. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things. You never know what you might discover about yourself and the people around you.

3. Trust your intuition. It’s your guiding light, leading you towards authentic connections and fulfilling experiences.

4. Embrace your uniqueness and don’t conform to societal expectations. Your path may be different, and that’s okay.

5. Cultivate self-love and self-acceptance. These are the foundations for building meaningful relationships with others.

Remember, the journey to finding genuine connections is not always linear or easy. But by embracing your true self, pursuing your passions, and stepping out of your comfort zone, you’ll discover that the world is brimming with opportunities to form deep and meaningful friendships.

Music is my life. As a dancer, I couldn’t get inspired without music. It’s a package deal. That’s why when I see opportunities to explore gadgets catering to this, I’m always up for it! I got invited to Sennheiser’s launch of their latest campaign, “Sennheiser Sound Heroes.” They also introduced new audio solutions including high-end audio headphones, amplifiers, portable music and entertainment wireless headphones, DJ headphones, gaming headsets, as well as mobile recording headphones for smartphones.

One of the highlights of the collection was the 3-Million-peso pair of audiophile headphones they call HE 1 headphones. I haven’t tried it on myself. While I’m not the type of blogger who dives into all the technical details to analyze this, tech bloggers can take care of that, I know for sure that I want to get to the bottom line on why this pair is so expensive! Apparently, this pair has the lowest total harmonic distortion ever measured in an audio reproduction system, bringing the numbers down to 0.01 percent distortion. Simply said, no other sound reproduction system in the world can create this absolutely perfect illusion of being directly immersed in the sound. Let me just put that on my wish list for now.

Apart from the new collection they launched, they also introduced the Sennheiser Sound Heroes. It is an initiative spearhadaed by Sennheiser in Asia. The project will follow 12 local creative personalities on a journey to discover new audio experiences with Sennheiser products, culminating with a trip to Sennheiser’s headquarters and flagship stores in Germany. These 12 personalities include singers/actors, Khalil Ramos and Jay Gonzaga; radio DJs, Dannie Farmer and Jazmin Reyes; influencers/bloggers, Cha Ocampo, Rhea Bue, Issa Pressman, Deegee Razon, Ira Denise Oyco; vlogger, Maqui Castelo; party emcee, Marga Bermudez; and concert photographer, Magic Liwanag.

I uploaded this video montage so you can check the image quality of videos taken by Dobby drone, unedited! I didn’t use any filters or enhanced the video. I did however cut the videos for the montage but that’s it!

Overall, it did the job for me! The video could be enhanced further by software. It doesn’t have a gimbal but it still was pretty stable despite strong winds at the beach. It has an Electronic Image Stabilizer. This drone doesn’t produce commercial-grade professional videos, but as you can see for the small size and the price, it is packed with features that even a first-timer like me can utilize. Videos are amazing and is good enough for capturing those precious sights and moments!

While technology has its benefits, too much of it can also be a bad thing. Eye strain is fast becoming a problem for many gadget users today. Likewise, some people experience neck pain from being hunched over their computers for too long.

To avoid eye strain, neck pain, and other health problems, here are five easy tips for a tech detox:

1. Limit your social media time.

How often do you check your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? Social media networks are a great way to stay connected, but they can also be major time wasters. Before you know it, your “few minutes” could become an hour and you suffer from social media stress.

If you are really serious about getting a tech detox, limit to your social media time. Logging in for a few minutes in the morning and in the evening should be enough. You can also set your accounts to view only the people and pages that are most important to you.

2. Get a grip on your email.

In the early days of the Internet, getting an email used to be fun and exciting. But today, the mere sight of “500 unread” is enough to make anyone dizzy. Fortunately, you can take some steps to manage your ever-expanding inbox.

First, turn off email alerts and “pings.” You do not need a reminder every time you receive an email! Second, set a schedule for checking your inbox, such as every few hours or so.

3. Put your gadget away.

This may seem hard at first, but once you get into the habit, you will wonder why you’ve never tried it in the first place. Instead of keeping your phone beside you all the time, try putting it on a table across the room. This way, you will not be tempted to check it every few minutes.

4. Find other means of entertainment.

Remember the old days, when a good book or some craft paper can keep you occupied for hours? Before the digital age, people actually had hobbies! Even if you can read an e-book or doodle on an art app, the experience is not the same.

Think back on what used to occupy your time before smartphones came. Take a walk, go jogging, plan a bicycle ride with friends. Start gardening, cooking, or anything besides picking up your gadget!

5. Mark it on you calendar.

A tech detox plan becomes clearer when you put it in writing. And no, do not use an app for this! Get a piece of paper or calendar, then write down your schedule for checking email, Facebook, and other tech-related tasks. Do this regularly and your tech detox will become a daily habit.

Even in this day and age of tech gadgets, it is possible to slow down and enjoy the simple things. To prevent Internet stress and smartphones from taking over your life, follow these tips for a well-deserved tech-detox.

Here is my own list of what Technology can really do in my life. Please note that I know there are a lot of disadvantages to technology when abused. I just compiled this list to focus on what technology really can do for us when we use it the right way.

#1 Improve everything!

Technology can improve your work, organization skills, language and education, relationships and so much more that I cannot even enumerate all of them! If you know how to use technology to your advantage, you can improve everything in your life from your work productivity to your fitness state to your relationships!

I actually found my soulmate using an online dating app! Can you believe it? I had no luxury of time to go out everyday and search for the one! It also enabled me to filter through guys I am really interested in based on their profile. I would never have meet my guy if it haven’t been for this dating app I used. These communication apps also enables us to get in touch with friends, family and loved ones so we can always be connected with them. <3

#2 Create jobs that didn’t exist before

Back in 2009, I resigned from my corporate job for a very huge and global company, to explore the world of social media. Back then, “Social Media Managers” didn’t exist and this was also the time where I have already been blogging for 2 years and unknowingly, learned more about branding (my personal brand), utilizing social media and trying to make money online on the side by discovering the power of the internet. I then worked as a freelancer to manage multiple social media sites for big brands because at that time, companies didn’t have that specific job description yet.

Now, you can find a lot of job vacancies for Social Media Managers, Social Media Analysts, Digital Marketing “Ninja”, Online Guru, Ecommerce Analyst, Virtual Assistants and so on and so forth. We are living in an era where everything is possible now. Even those farfetched hoverboards from Back to the Future now exist! Totes amaze!

#3 Capture priceless moments

Every smartphone now has a great camera and lots of apps to document your life. Money can’t buy an upgrade to our memory. Technically, money might be able to buy a healthy lifestyle, but it can only do so much. Capturing our precious moments has never been easier with technology. When I was a kid, it was always just photos and even then, it was quite expensive to get a good camera and develop them, not to mention the hassle of having to walk to a photo store to have the film developed. (On second thought, walking promotes a healthy lifestyle so it’s not so bad.)

We can definitely buy lots of memory cards and hard drives to store our life moments. We can even blog about it, like what I do now. Transfer of information from one generation to another has never been easy!

I edited everything using my iPhone only! iPhone’s camera is also great for video taking on the go – especially the new iPhone 7 that has a 12 MP, f/1.8, 28mm, phase detection autofocus, OIS, quad-LED (dual tone) flash. If you did not understand what that meant, it just means you can capture great videos even in low light at very high resolution!

#4 Work on the go

Whether it be presentations or a write-up, or simply checking emails. Work has been made convenient because we can take them on the go. Think about that long UBER ride in this crazy Manila traffic. Either you can sleep, or check emails and group chats on the go.

Your boss won’t allow you to take that super long leave. But you can now lobby that you can still be contacted via mobile email from time to time. I hope this doesn’t happen to you because working while on vacation is a horrible circumstance, but if you really need to pay those bills, this is a great compromise.

#5 Support a healthy lifestyle

There’s a plethora of mobile apps that you can use to track your diet, weight, miles, steps, sleeping habit, physical activities through wearables, even your stress levels and so much more. There are also innovative medical solutions at your fingertips like consulting a doctor on your mobile phone and more. There’s also a lot of fitness apps, giving you access to virtual trainers.

In a nutshell, for the price and the features that this phone has, it is definitely a must-buy! I have been playing with this for about 2 weeks and I’ve been really enjoying it. The blue light filter helped when I read eBooks and I love the low light mode. Plus, you can add up to 128gb of micro SD card 🙂

Thin, light and edgy. Round corners and the thinnest ege of the phones measures at just 3.9mm. Ergonomic design that fits comfortably in your palm. The rear keys make it easy to control volume or take selfie shots.

5.0 inch HD (720 x 1280 p) IPS display and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 offers vibrant colors, good brightness levels, wide viewing angles up to 178 degrees. It also has anti-fingerprints coating with glove touch support. It also gives sensitive and responsive touch experience. ZenFone 2 Laser is one of the quickest in the market with a response time of 60ms as compared to most Android phones that are around 80 to 100 ms. It is also very smart as it will know how to distinguish between water drops/grease and your finger enabling the screen to still responsively work well even when phone is a bit wet (during rainy season.

ASUS TruVivid Technology enables you to see more colors than you typically would on your mobile phone screens, reaching 72% of the NTSC gamut. This gives you the ability to see more colors just as precisely as your eyes enjoy the real world.

I also love ASUS Splendid that does many things like adjusting hue and saturation of your screen, but my favorite feature is that it can decrease bluelight by 30%. This just means you can read longer without straining your eyes as much.

More fun begins here! IT runs on PixelMaster 2.0 Camera with 8-megapixel on the back guided with laser auto-focus. Another feature I like is the dual-LED real tone flash that makes makes your skin tone look more natural, and a 5 mp camera in front.

It has f/2.0 aerture Toshiba lens that can be used well in low light conditions.

What is this Laser auto-focus you ask? The normal phones would usually take a few moments before it focuses on a subject. The rear camera of the ZenFone 2 Laser though has laser autofocus technology for the fastest clarity. Precision and quality would be my chosen keywords. The laser auto focus even works well with low light mode too, enabling the camera to find the subject and focus on eat easier on low light. It also has my favorite HDR photo which is perfect for travel buddies like me who like taking photos of landscape. Fear no light and shadow as HDR mode balances these two for a great photo finish. Another bonus, it has a wide angle panorama selfie!!! Perfect for group shots – give this phone to the Oscars so they can take a better selfie with more stars!

It also has real-time beautification mode, just try it so I don’t have to explain how awesome of a friend this feature is. To complement these camera features, the phone comes with built-in fun apps like ASUS Photo Collage and Photo Effects as well as the ASUS MiniMovie to document your life!

It also has a super resolution mode allowing you to merge 4 pictures into one resulting to a near 52MP photo. Built-in blow up photo machine 🙂

Video recording can be done with maximum resolution of FULL HD 1920 x 1080 with video stabilization.

Call and Connectivity
It’s not a great phone it cannot make great phone calls. To make the signal connection better, ZenFone 2 Laser comes with the ASUS Zentenna technology. I don’t want to write words that I cannot pronounce to explain what this is, in short it just means it receives and emits multidirectional ground currents giving better signal. The dual sim 4G is also great news!

As for the GPS, it supports 3 different satellite systems in the globe.
1. GPS (Global Positioning System)
2. Glonass (Russian Global Navigation Satellite System)
3. BDS (Beidou Navigation Satellite system)

Battery
It is equipped with a 3,000 mAH Li-Polymer giving over 36 hours usage on 3G signal and Wifi turned on during the period. Battery is replaceable too so you don’t have to worry about the battery getting drained if ever.

Sound
It comes with 5 layers of magnets in a large chamber so bass sound can be better. That’s all I need to know about that 🙂
