I haven’t seen a dragonfly in a while.  It reminded me of my childhood that I blogged here.

I couldn’t think of any title to this blog post so before writing, I decided to brush my teeth and wash up first before blogging and going to sleep.  In the bathroom, I saw a HUGE dragonfly   I know I’m a scaredy cat and I freak out at freaky squeeky and creepy things but a dragonfly is different

That dragonfly reminded me of my childhood.  I used to catch dragonflies in 3rd grade on our school’s huge field back in the day.  I am boyish and played whatever guys played during the day.  Of course, I also hang out with boyish girls lol.  During lunch time, while other girls are playing “sliding wallet”, I was catching grasshoppers and dragonflies.  I couldn’t count how many of those insects I caught but I could remember it was many.  Don’t worry, I don’t hurt them … I think   I believe we let them go after we caught them.  (I am not a murderer, not even to helpless insects)  Well, maybe except for mosquitos and red ants grrr.

Anyway, the dragonfly is supposedly not related to this blog post.  The dragonfly is just a memory that I don’t want to forget and that’s why I wanted to put it on the title.  Someday, somehow, I’d be reminded of how fun it was to be a kid and play around with nature rather than cyberspace.  oh well…

For the real blog post… here we go.

I don’t know where today went!  A lot of things just happened let me enumerate them:

1.  Woke up early to sit in DJ Vince G’s show “The G-spot” on Mellow 94.7 at the Paragon Plaza.  He interviewed my friend from the blogosphere Frances Sales, editor of OK magazine and blogging at TopazHorizon.com   I haven’t seen her in almost a year I think and the last time I saw her was at an event and we just quickly said hi.  I thought she was going to bring baby Vito too so I thought of coming to see the little angel but she decided not to bring him up the booth because it might be noisy.  It was an interesting on-air topic about how to find yourself your prince or princess. 

This OK! issue is a must buy – I couldn’t put it down reading and viewing all their compilations for “Best and Worst” for the year and many other good stuff.

2.  Kiddie Party at Jollibee!  I feel like I am getting old attending a children’s party of friends.  Oh my goodness, let’s not talk about how I want to move forward in that aspect just yet… anyway, there was this game for kids and I was surprised that they also had some game for adults.  And because people were not game.. I was volunteered @_@  at least I learned one thing today – how to pop a balloon lol

3.  Popping a pimple – when you get so desperate with that HUMONGOUS pimple on TOP of your nose, you learn how to Google how to pop it ~_~ and that’s exactly what I did in Hong Kong where I couldn’t get a hold of any derma help.  I thought it worked, but a week after, it’s growing again like I actually got worried that NASA’s new microbiological discovery of new species with new DNA is growing on top of my nose!  EMERGENCY!!!

Since I found myself walking around the mall after the birthday party, I looked for a clinic to inject some anti-ACNE serum on it.  Yes, they put needles on my swollen pimple – imagine the PAIN I had to endure.  I had no choice, I have shoots coming up and I don’t want my pimple still up (that rhymes!).

4.  Hair Pamperin’ – Oh, hair got fuzzed on the Hong Kong cold, time to rejuvenate with a simple hot oil   Thanks to Vivere Salon and the staff for taking care of my hair  

5.  Shopped for stuff at 50% off – because it’s a Sale and I am being a girl ~_~’

6.  Bought my new pair of glasses (2 of them) for only P1,300 each!  Each glasses have multicoated lens on them already – all in the price of P1,300 faints!  And the best part was, I had a free checkup (which is standard) and they made the glasses for me in my grade for only 30 minutes! 

Star-Finder Optical shop at Robinson’s Place Manila.  Their store is located behind the “House of Obagi” store   They are also located in Bel Air Alabang   They also had a few circle lenses that are of course safe to use.  I discourage people buying just from anywhere.  I usually buy at Optical Shops for safety.  Sometimes I buy it  at MyCandyEyes.com  I have used their lenses and so far, so good.  They also have great reviews from buyers.  Shipping was also quicker than I expected

7.  Last but not the least, got my underarm waxed finally.  I used to shave, but now I go to waxing salon.  Soon, I will have it laser-removed. 

Hectic day, but now I am tired @_@… time to sleep guys   But first, share with me…

I just found out that there were countries visiting my site that I didn’t even know of.  I know I’m bad at geography and memorizing country names.  But I seriously haven’t encountered some of the places that visit my blog.

If I have enough money… I would want to travel to these places.  It’s the unpopular that I want to discover.  I find more treasure in the rare like rare music, rare TV drama… and the likes. 

I just watched “The Expendables.”  Don’t ask me about the review, I wouldn’t say anything nice.  I learned something though.  I learned that there is a place called “Vilena”.

I looked at my Cluster Maps and what you are seeing is data from May 2010 up to date.

Just by looking at it, I wondered what countries or places those dots are… I’m like “There’s internet connection there?”  and yet, they visited my blog!

That’s a bold statement up there… but yep, I think that I am super techie even for my own good that what triggers my ESP (if I have one) is Technology.

Last year, I wrote one dedicated blog post about how I think I had ESP.  You can read about it here if you are masipag enough :P.

I freak myself out a lot of times!!!  I gave examples of situations that are totally creepy but cool on my ESP post above.  One thing about my ESP is that I can only feel something to happen within the next minute.  The most I think is 24 hours.  Other than that, I don’t think I can feel what happens in the distant future.

Another thing that I noticed lately that most of it is “Technology” related!

Jeng… Jeng… Jeng…!

Situation #1  The Cellphone

Most of the time I have my phone lying around and I am busy and so engrossed tinkering with my computer or watching TV or DVD, then all of a sudden I panic thinking “whoah where’s my cellphone someone might text me” a second or 2 later it rings / alerts me of a new message.

– SometimesI think my brain detects radio signals or has an invisible antenna of its own lol.  Sometimes I think that it receives sms signals and it alerts me before it alerts the phone for a message.

Situation #2 The Radio

Another thing that always really happens to me, like I thought at first this is always a coincidence but it just really is happenning too often for my skepticism to this idea melt, is when I say I am in a car driving while listening to music.  Suddenly I just feel like looking to the right and I see a billboard with the word “vacation” then synchronized with the lyrics of the song (or sometimes what the dj says) is also the word “vacation.”

Situation #3 The Internet

About 2 years ago, I was heartbroken like mad.  I’m over it but if you will notice my archive 2 years ago, it’s super emo like I want to slap myself now reading it lol.

I plurked saying “I think I need to go to Church.” and Sonnie suggested me to join a Christian Group that he suggested if I’m interested.  Later that night I asked him about the Christian Group and he gave me a link to their site. I was about to type the url address of the site when I noticed that, the site was open on my window already @_@…

Situation #3 The Globe Event

Okay, so this time, it’s a Globe event… you know what it means… cellphone everywhere, techie people, 3G, GPRS, EDGE network of globe… more radio signals and everything tech!

So this ESP thing happened just recently and I was getting more and more convinced that my ESP is triggered by technology.  Vince and I were invited to Globe’s launch of their Flagship stores.  Thanks Coy for always inviting us to super cool Globe events 🙂

Will talk about the event in details later 🙂

Anyway, there’s a raffle at the end and when they said that, I immediately just had the super strong feeling that I will win something!  I don’t usually get that feeling but that night, when it was announced, it was super strong.  We were supposed to go to another event but I really felt I need to stay for the evening.  Vince had to go to the other awesome event as well, but I decided to stay on the Globe launch.  I also kinda missed hanging out with my other blogger friends who were there and it was also one of the reasons why I stayed (NUKS!)  Pero totoo guys! SWEAR! I miss you gaisss!

So Vince said goodbye to me… When he said goodbye… I didn’t want to let go of his hand for some reason!!!  (Let’s not get mushy guys lol)  That same time he was leaving, I had a feeling that it WASN’T ME who is going to win… but HIM!  I tried to convince him to stay… but he failed…

“Sige, kung gusto mo, iwan ka nalang dito” he said.

“Okay.” that’s was all that I can say… Malay ko ba that my ESP(n) is telling me something.

RAFFLE TIME!

“Wait a minute” – I said to myself.

The feeling of me not winning and Vince winning was getting strong… the whole night after he left, I felt kinda nervous for some reason… my hands were cold and my heart was palpitating a bit fast and normal…

The names are being raffled out already… some people already won…

Hindi ako mapakali! (I couldn’t stay still) “should I text him?” eh what if he won’t win rin naman… what basis do I have?

“wag na.”

and the host goes “Next item will be a _____” I didn’t hear the item they were raffling out but at this time, they were all cellphones already.  Someone said “iPhone” so I thought it was an iPhone…

and the lucky name is… yep… that’s right folks… I saw his name on the TV Screen…

“VINCE GOLANGCO”

*faints*

So I told Vince the whole ESP(n) story I had… I told him about my other ESP(n) moments before but he was just laughing at me lol.  I guess after this incident he somehow acknowledged some little bit of possibility that I could have the tiniest bit of psychic in me… 😛

“From number 1 – 15, what number am I thinking?” He blurted randomly while he was driving us home.

“13” – it was the first number that came into my mind for some reason.

“mother*****”

was all he can say… I got it right 😛

Facts:

1. Intolerable headache

2. Bothered eyes (might be cause of headache)

3. Nausea

4. Vomiting like no other.  Vomiting even if nothing comes out…

5. A little movement and I get dizzy… then I vomit again.

 

Culprit:

New contact lenses… I haven’t worn contact lenses for a week.  I had my eye check if I still have the same grade, bought new ones, then drove home.

Traffic was crazy.  The glare of the 4pm sun was sickening.  I could feel my eyes being bothered.  When we arrived home, I felt the headache.  I removed my contact lenses and slept for 30 minutes to rest.  When I woke up, I was feeling much better, but a slight hint of headache was still there.

I wore the contact lenses again and we were off to the Playboy event.

 

Playboy’s 5th year anniversary at the Hyatt.

It wasn’t a blogger event nor anything that I need to cover so I was grateful WEE!  It was just a party and the tickets were expensive :P  We were not allowed to write or to get media coverage so whatever happened there, stays there 😛

 

The only thing that triggered my headache again was the smoke.  I tried to fight it and tried as hard to stay.  I forgot to bring the container of my contact lenses.  The lenses are new and they cost about a thousand good for a year.  I could not just throw it like the other disposable lenses.

So, I had to wait.

This aggravated the pain.

 

We finally went home, but all was too late.  I felt super worse.  The driving made my motion sickness trigger as well and I vomited in the car, in the house.  I tried to take care of myself as much as possible.  But I was so glad that someone was there to take care of me.

 

Lessons Learned.

Do not leave container of contact lenses.  Always bring them.

Avoid smoke when wearing contact lenses.  Take them off if ever.

Make sure your grade is correct, consult with the doctor.

I ACTUALLY DID IT YOU GAIIIZ!!!

Okay, so Nic (our friend) arranged for us at Ariel’s Resto in Boracay station 1 for this very flair adventure!  We started off meeting the others at Ariel’s at around 11am.  Then we headed off to the boats docked at Station 1 for a 30 – 40 min (ish) ride.

For a tiny fee, P1,200 (about $27 US Dollars), you get a boat ride from Boracay to Ariel’s Point, which is about 30 minutes away. There, you have unlimited drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with lunch and of course your boat ride back to Boracay during sunset. Oh, let’s not forget the unlimited number of cliff dives, jumps and (like my friends) belly flops that you can do.

When we got there, I saw the plank that was stretched out of the cliff for everyone to dive on.  There were different levels.  The lowest plank was at 5 feet, then I think there was a 10 feet and 30 feet.

Then I saw the 45 feet.  I was not as overwhelmed as I thought I would be.  I saw the height (from the boat) and I was like “mehhh… I think I can do this, it wasn’t as high as I thought it was.”

Then we head up to the top of the cliff.  There were tables and chairs for us to hang on.

I think everyone was too busy to take pictures of the people jumping that I couldn’t find pictures of the hangout area… This is the only picture I have with rest of the area… of course, it’s the one with me and Marc Nelson in it… *faints*

There was even a hammock…

but, I found a picture of a monkey…

There you go! The moody monkey… Sometimes he’s shy, sometimes he’s playful… sometimes he’s just acting cool ;p

Oh, and he loves rum coke!

That’s why he’s a bit high lol

Everyone settled down first but our friend Oli jumped on the 45 feet plank first… wooot!!!  I think he was the most excited guy on our group to really cliff dive.

I instantly thought that I must jump already – on the HIGHEST plank, just to get it over and done with.

I am a good swimmer and I am very buoyant (If you know what I mean lol).  Anyway, kidding aside, I studied the area.  I studied the cliff and the water where I would fall.  It looks deep enough.  It should be!  I saw Marc Nelson doing his Eagle Swan dive and his brother jumping on the highest plank the same.

Immediately I knew it was safe to jump.

This is just to reassure my mom and my aunts who got so mad seeing my picture jumping off a cliff…

After Oli jumped and he was okay, he had fun and he said that was just amazing!  I initially though of jumping second.  So, I grabbed all the balls I have and went to the stairs, and walked my way (slowly) to the plank…

Tick…

Tock…

I felt like the whole world was in slow motion.  I was climbing the last stair to the top and I could feel my heart beat… both with excitement and I admit, I got scared… That was when I was overwhelmed by the height!!!!!!!

Slowly, I made my way to the edge of the plank…

I looked down…

BAD IDEA!!!

From below, it didn’t look scary…

But when you’re on the edge of the plank, and you see the water below you’d shriek with fear!!!

Then, I heard encouraging words from the crowd…  My friend Trondz was there too at the stairs of the plank and he was like… “kaya mo yan… it also took me a while to jump from that plank”

I thought to myself… “I guess everyone is scared at first, but look at all those who jumped… they now walk with pride knowing they jumped a 45-ft cliff”

At this point, my knees weakened… like all of my adrenaline was crumpled into a ball inside my adrenaline gland, not wanting to go out yet…

I walked back a few steps and I saw my other friend Jake, waiting in line to jump next.

I knew then I wasn’t ready…

So I asked her to jump first ahead of me.

It took her a little while to grasp the reality that she was standing in the plank… but I guess she just wanted to do it and not hold the line so she jumped!!!

Then I heard the splash!!!

It was just quick and so I asked “How was it?”

“Masakit sa pwet pero okay lang, it’s fun” To translate she said “it hurts the butt but it’s still fun”

I brain is one nice machine but my body is still weak and frazzled.  Since logic is telling me that it’s just perfectly fine… I managed to grab all the balls I have and convinced my body that it will be okay.

I found myself at the edge of the plank again.  This time, I heard Trondz voice again “Don’t look down while falling, just look at the horizon”

“That seems like a helpful tip… in fact the horizon looks nice… helps me calm down” I thought…

Without thinking next, I let go of the plank and stepped on air…

The fall lasted for about 3 seconds.

It happened really really quick and my brain processed every emotion per millisecond.  And the conscious side of my brain is a bit slow to realize that I finally did it and even though I got mixed emotions, the word FUN was still on the top of my mind.

Good thing my memory still captured the feeling, millisecond by millisecond (I’m exaggerating) and this is why I’m blogging this right now to make the moment immortal!

I DID IT!!!

I was “mayabang” (one proud little kitty) when I went back up.  Weee I did it!!!

Then I went back to Vince (who was assigned to take my video)…

One thing I would not want is for him to miss my jump and not take a video of it…

“I took your video!” he said. “YAYE!!! Let me see!”

and this is it… In normal motion…

To my horror, I did not like the video… Why? It was not zoomed in on me so my face was not recognizable… It wasn’t proof enough that I jumped…

All the vanity took over me and without anymore thinking, I said… Get the camera ready, I’ll jump again… This time, use the Sony Cybershot TX1 so that you can zoom in and zoom out while recording a video.  (Other digicams can’t zoom in and out).  “Zoom in when I’m on the plank and about to jump… and Zoom out when I remove my feet off the plank” – I gave him specific instructions 😛

So, there you go… Jump number two 😀
