I had this random thought while making another blog post earlier.  It’s all about the evil word Insecurity.

To me, a girl gets insecure the moment she starts to feel that she’s no longer special.

It’s all subjective though, it’s all about her feelings.  To the guy, she might still be his beloved princess with all the love in the world, but she doesn’t feel it.  There may be reasons why.  Maybe the guy is just to busy.  It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t love her anymore or that he’s with someone else.  The guy might just be plain friendly with other girls.  she just can’t handle it and compare herself to these other girls.  She starts to notice little things that would suggest her guy doesn’t like to be with her anymore.  Then they fight and the basis is all speculation.  It’s a mess.

I flew Singapore Airlines to Singapore and I really enjoyed the flight with lots of movies I can choose from.  I watched this movie “Chloe.”  I recommend everyone to watch it.  Girls can relate, and the guys don’t usually like the Drama genre but they will love the girl-on-girl scene with Amanda Seyfried and Julian Moore.

Can’t put the rest of the screen caps here lol.

The movie’s tagline is “If the one you love was lying to you, how far would you go to find out the truth?”  Chloe is all about this doctor (Julian Moore) who hired an escort to seduce her husband, whom she suspects of cheating.  Not to give you spoilers but it just all boils down to her getting insecure for well a lot of reasons.  This movie is just an example of how insecurity can ruin a relationship… tsk tsk tsk…

There’s also a popular saying “No one can make you feel insecure without your permission.” – I say, easier said than done.  Everybody goes through this phase.  So what do you do now?  Just remind yourself constantly that no one really cares!   If you feel fat, or thin as a chopstick or fugly or ugly or if you feel like you’re so stupid or that you have embarrassed yourself in public, or that this girl has a prettier face, nicer skin etc… People don’t care, so you shouldn’t bother entertaining ridiculous and unnecessary judgment from your own self.

Insecurity is a b*tch and it’s up to you how you treat it.  Do you let it consume you?  If you do, they always make things worse for you.  Insecurity is never helpful.

Women don’t understand why men can be such insensitive human beings and guys just don’t get why a girl get’s too emotional with all the drama.  Well, just a word of advice to men who want to avoid drama, do all you can to make her feel special.  That’s all that is.  Buy flowers occasionally for no reason, just to remind her you care.  If you do miss dates or anything like that, make sure you make up for it Smile and don’t entertain too many ladies especially when she’s around.  No matter how secure the girl is with herself, she will no longer feel special and the rest is history Smile with tongue out

Whoah, I haven’t written very personally lately.  I just thought of putting my thoughts on writing and share it to you guys.  At least my thinking brain can give some light on those who can relate.  What do you think?  Let me know yah?!? You can argue with me just let me know what you think of this evil word.

Well, that’s all for tonight… Ta-ta!

  1. I watched Chloe when it was shown here and was amused kasi the last time i saw Amanda was in Letters for Juliet and her character is far, far different from Chloe. I love it though haha one of my frustrations as a filmmaker is to make a similar one 😛 Gusto ko nga lang ang ending mutual hehe 😛

  2. which makes Amanda a very good actress! I saw letters for Juliet after I watched Chloe kse I was so impressed by her acting! Pero I remembered her sa Mean Girls before… she was the dumb blonde weather girl who predicts the weather with her boobs haha

  3. Hi Hannah. . nice thought. .

Insecurity is never helpful. This is rather an insecure pronouncement. LOL.

Insecurity makes the world go round and round. Without us being insecure we will never get through life. Our first cry when we were born is a sign that we will have insecurity all through out. Who doesn’t have one? Even great men and women have their share of insecurities hidden in their closets. And my greatest influence is one of the most insecure people in the whole world. . no other than Sir John Lennon. . and he admitted it no shame and even wrote songs about it, the most prominent were “Run For Your Life” during Beatle days. .(I’d rather see you dead little than to be with another men. .you better keep your head little girl or you don’t know where I am. . you better run for your life if you can little girl. .) and of course the now famous solo song Jealous Guy. But he got through life and was able to maintain a lasting relationship with his widow Yoko. Though admittedly that relationship went thru hell the same because of John’s insecurities. And did you know that John is so afraid of getting fat? Ha ha ha . Any way I wish him 70th happy birthday tomorrow 09 Oct.

I believe that we can manage our insecurity to work for us. It takes a lot of efforts but if we do, then it can propel us more to greater achievements in life.

And you’re right no one really cares. . except youself. All I can say is that we must hurdle thru our own insecurities in order to live through this rather unfair life.

I was so insecure with blogs like yours that it paralyzed me for months twiddling on the idea of whether to launch my blog site or not. I thought what the heck! I will launch it no matter what , then learn from gurus like you and get through it. Though I don’t have the following yet, am happy to have written something. That was another insecurity taken care. . ha ha ha .

  4. I am guilty of this. I may sometimes say that I am no way insecure of my bf’s bestfriend (who happens to be a girl!) but I feel that sometimes their paths cross especially when Im not around. And imagine, weve been together for six months, but I havent met her in the flesh yet. But I guess I have to change my outlook from now on, because it can kill the relationship without you even knowing it. I just hope that I wouldnt get so paranoid everytime her name comes up.

Thanks for this post. It really helped a lot for me. 🙂

  5. Hey Ria dear, I get that a lot too! It’s a case-to-case scenario though but in that case, pag mejo you feel something weird, chances are there is really something… that is based on my experience..

I don’t know lang but usually, if a guy really cares about how you feel, and he knows that you are iffy with the girl, he should take some action like talk less to the girl, introduce the girl to you…

I had boyfriends before with girl best friends… he had some friends na I feel they are really friends. but he had some friends that I felt weird about.. and usually, I am right about that iffy feeling.

The girl should understand herself that her bestfriend has a girlfriend and she should respect that. I also have guy friends, and even though we are just friends and he has already a girlfriend, I make a little gap between us just so that the girlfriend wouldn’t even think about anything at all kse nga wala naman.

I don’t know the details about them, and you’re the only one who can observe them pero 6 months pa lang naman kayo… just observe, be friendly and make an effort to get to know the girl na rin 🙂 and if this is affecting your relationship, talk to him about it…

If he really cares about you, you will see him making an effort. Explaining, and wanting to resolve things is a sign. If he doesn’t give a sh*t, it’s a sign he’s not really your guy.

    So yon, observe lang.. 🙂

  6. nice post.

just my two cents: there are some “slippery: types who actually hide the unfaithfulness in the person of “girl bestfriends”. as a girlfriend, it’s quite hard to draw or pinpoint the line between diba… haha. sometimes it’s the insecurity. but then again, there are shameless flirts din naman that breeds a lot of inner hostilities and suspicions…

true, a woman’s hunch is her best ally in most instances. unless diagnosed with paranoia.
