When it comes to comfortable footwear, I always have my trust on Crocs. Â I have traveled the world wearing Crocs for the very simple reason – I can walk a thousand miles with it!

These Crocs I got since 2008 – it already traveled to different cities.

Got posted in a few magazines and newspapers wearing this

I cannot let go of them, they are just LOVE!

Most of the time we need to choose between comfort and style, but with Crocs new Boat Shoe Line, we can have the best of both worlds!

Every year, Crocs gives us new designs to enjoy and since it’s summer, they just released their latest beach line collection. Â Admit it, Crocs has to be the world’s go-to comfort footwear brand. Â On their latest collection, Crocs announces their edgy takes on classic topsiders – they are not your typical boat shoes. Â They are made of comfort, sturdy materials and a few colorful designs to choose from.

Crocs Beach Line Collection.

Here are my notes. Â They are light and comfortable. Â Walking is a breeze and you wouldn’t feel any drag. Â The shoes are also designed with siped rubber sole for stronger grip and traction – works for me because I always slip involuntarily!

It’s really great to wear for a beach outing. Â I know I just came from a loooong weekend of summer fun in Boracay, but I can’t wait to greet the sea breeze again with these Hurache flip-flops!

I paired it with my favorite Marley headphones and Wonder Woman top from DC Malaysia

Comfort is power when it comes to footwear! Â And just to emphasize the importance of this, Crocs launches an online game called Run, Sailor, Run! Â Collect coins as you run, dodge obstacles and collect bonuses. Â The highest scorer wins an ll-expenses paid, 3-night trip to Singapore for two. Â But wait, it doesn’t end there. Â It will also send you to experience and board the Crocs yacht! Â The more friends play along with you, the higher the score, the higher the chances of winning the grand prize. Â Treats would also be given as consolation prizes!

I wrote this post to spread this awareness to everyone that our place of pride, Palawan, may be in danger.

Last December 30, 2010, an Indonesian Barge towing 8,000 tons of coal became stranded here in the Philippines. To date, people are doing their efforts to repair the barge and time is of the essence because the continuous battery of rocks and currents are damaging the hull which may spill the unburnt coal. Unburnt coal present in marine environments will cause major damage to our beautiful seas.

Palawan is one of our most beautiful beaches in the country. It is also a great diving spot for locals and tourists. It will be sad if our seas will be filled with oil. Our seas also host thousands of unique marine life and you can just imagine what will happen if this disaster happens.

I am not entirely sure how we can help as they didn’t inform me how, but I know that spreading awareness is the first step to help prevent damage to our Palawan Seas. If you have any suggestions, comment below. I sure will update you guys for any developments regarding this.

SPSF, LGU’s, the PCGA and PCG join forces to aid stranded Indonesian vessel

The Save Palawan Seas Foundation (SPSF) in cooperation with local government units, private citizens of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Philippine Coast Guard have been attempting to aid stranded Indonesian barge Ivan Batam since it first entered a Marine Sanctuary off the coast of Taytay, Palawan last Tuesday, December 30, 2010.

Agus Priyanto, captain of the vessel towing over 8,000 metric tons of coal reported that they ran out of fuel en route to Batangas and had entered the waters of the marine sanctuary to seek shelter from rough waters. Fearing the adverse effects of prolonged exposure of coal on marine life, the foundation sold diesel to the vessel. Ivan Batam left the sanctuary and docked in a nearby island instead to await the arrival of more fuel from Manila.

On January 2, 2011, the barge was spotted temporarily grounded near the Southwest of Maytigued Island due to choppy waters. After being lent more fuel, they left the site the following day.

Members of LGU’s of Taytay Palawan, PCGA , PCG and SPSF spotted the tugboat anchored in a nearby island, apparently having left the barge and coal near Binatican Island, also a part of the marine sanctuary.

Unburnt coal, when present in marine environments in sufficient quantities, can cause abrasion, smothering, alteration of sediment texture and stability, reduced availability of light, and clogging of respiratory and feeding organs of marine life (Ahrens and Morrisey, 2005)[1]

Members of LGU’s of Taytay Palawan, PCGA , PCG and SPSF continue to monitor the situation closely because they are concerned by the potential environmental calamity should the barge be damaged and its cargo spilled onto the surrounding coral beds.

To date, a salvage team has gone to the site of the grounded barge to assess the situation. It appears that there has been some damage to the barge that would require minor repairs before it could be towed. Time is of the essence as it is feared that further delay would cause greater damage to the barge’s hull as the vessel is continuously battered by both current and rocks, which would cause the coal spill, endangering surrounding marine life.

Save Palawan Seas Foundation is a non-profit organization that works alongside LGU’s and the Philippine Coast Guard to vigilantly monitor the environmental situation in the province.

You know what they say. You haven’t been to Boracay if you haven’t been to Jonah’s. Jonah’s is well known for their shakes here in the island of Boracay. They make a lot of shakes and mixes. My favorite is Avocado – Mango Milk. 🙂 yum!

So there we were, on our first day in Boracay. We strolled along the shores of Station 1 hoping to get our hands on this heavenly shake. It was the afternoon and we saw people kite surfing (wind surfing). It was fun looking at them and I would have wanted to try it myself but I conditioned myself to just chill in Boracay for the rest of our stay.

Just in case you don’t know yet, it’s pretty windy in Boracay from July to October. Some people even surf here if the waves get bigger.

Anyway, we walked along the shore for a long time and we almost reached the “grotto” (rock). I remember that Jonah’s never is after the grotto and we were like… “WHERE IS JONAH’S?”

We strolled again for a while hoping to find it… But it just wasn’t there!

And so we asked the locals… they said that there’s no more Jonanh’s by the beach. But they gave us instructions to their branch along Boracay Highway. It was just a couple of minutes walk from our hotel – Astoria Boracay.

Apparently, their contract there on the land was over… That’s what they said… but I hope it’s not politics. Business politics could get crazy here in Boracay. Anyway, they will be back soon by October on the White Beach in Station 1 (but not exactly the exact location).

But as for now, visit their boutique restaurant near Crown Regency Boracay.

Outside the Jonah’s Fruit Shake and Restaurant Highway Branch (near Crown Regency)

Avocado Shake

Price ranges from P75 to P100++ depending on the mix of fruits

Mango Avocado shake

You can also have it “to-go”

Though it doesn’t look as nice as the one in glass 😛

They also serve rice meals, pasta, burgers & fries, crepes, pancakes and others.

I tried ordering their mango crepe

Mango Crepe P90

It was just okay 😛

Now you know where to find Jonah’s

🙂

Thank you to Astoria Boracay for sponsoring our stay in Boracay 🙂

xoxo,

Yes, It’s possible…

At around the cool months of October to December, Boracay usually has waves. This is when you will see people kite surfing. I forgot the name of the place renting out paddle boards and surfboards actually but you will see them along station 1 with a surfboard standing on the sand with the sign “Surf lessons here.”

Last April 2010, I came to Boracay for an adventure!

While walking along Station 1 on my way to Jonas, I saw a Paddle Board for rent… Immediately I approached the store and said I would like to rent 1. I miss surfing, but I am in no way near La Union. At this time, the water in Boracay is calm. Meaning, you cannot surf! But you can still have fun with the paddle board 🙂

The rent is a bit expensive P450/hour. Meanwhile in La Union you can only rent this for P200/hour. But what the heck… I was spending my last day in Boracay and I just got the paddle board and rented it…

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to paddle, there’s a guide that will teach you how 🙂
