I was browsing through my pictures and I realized that I have not uploaded all of the pictures from the 2009 Singapore Formula 1 night race.  Last year, I still had a day job and I was too busy to upload the pictures and blog.  When I was in Singapore, I did not have the liberty to touch my computer and update my blog all the time which is sad but you know why…

Anyway, to those who are going to this year’s Singapore Formula 1 then good luck guys and I envy you… Michael Schumacher will be there!!!  Oh, I love F1… I’m still working my way to be the first female driver in the Formula 1… time will come lol 😀

 

This is Lewis Hamilton walking around the Singapore F1 Track.  In this picture, you can only see a part of his leg and arm… I wasn’t able to get a good picture that was because I was so STARSTRUCK like I just **froze** there for like 5 seconds **faints**

I also saw Jensen Button cycling around the track but he was cycling to fast I wasn’t able to take pictures 😀

Day 1 – Singapore F1 Practice

September 25, 2009

I was seated at the Bay Grandstand yellow seats Row 6 Seat 26.  I took advantage of the special password given to me for booking.  It was too damn hot… This picture was taken at around 3pm and there were not much people but the sun is still hot!!! Make sure to apply sun block!  I swear, I would have wanted to walk around the track on a bikini – that’s how hot it is!

I tried to stroll around the Bay Grandstand area to look and search around for the best seats in the Bay Grandstand area.  This picture was taken at the super top seats in the Bay Grandstand Area. After checking the entire place, I would say that the best seats would have to be in the left most part (facing the track) on the Dark Green seats of the Bay Grandstand area.  I will blog about where to position yourselves nicely and what best ticket seats to buy for the Bay Grandstand area so please visit my blog often to get updated.

This is practice Friday and you can see Giancarlo Fisichella driving the Ferrari F1 car.  You can distinguish between Fisichella and Kimi Raikkonen based on the stickers behind their helmets.  The orange sticker is Fisichella, the yellow is Kimi.

We had a nice view of the Singapore Flyer by our side while the race is going.

This is the view from the top-left most part of the Bay Grandstand Area.  You will see a nice view of Singapore river and the skyscrapers 🙂

Day 3 – Singapore F1 Race Day

I did not take any more pictures of the F1 cars as I was concentrating on the race itself as well :)  I was just on guard if ever there will be a crash in front of us or whatever but good news, no major accident… so there you go…

Believe it or not, the global crisis is once agian the deep culprit of this. Difficult times would mean that costs spent for the Formula 1 race by the owners and sponsors are much likely to be just in the “cost-to-cut” list. I think the FIA is worried to have a financially unhealthy track and thought of this budget cap to make the race stable. Though the FIA knows that the roots of the F1 race lies with the team’s freedom to tinker with the technicalities and strategize upon it, they believe that it must be done in a controlled and responsible environment watching innovation flourish within the teams without having to spend much. There are pros and cons to this cap and some of the teams would be happy and some would be not. Would it totally make a difference to the following years’ race?

£40m Cap exclusions:

• Marketing and promotion – we want Formula One teams to look good and to entertain their partners. We want manufacturers to show off their cars at exhibitions and city centre displays, and we want teams and their sponsors to promote Formula One through inclusion in advertising campaigns.
• Drivers and young driver programmes – Formula One is the pinnacle of motor racing. Fundamental to this is attracting the world’s best drivers. Moreover we wish to encourage continued investment in young driver programmes.
• Engine costs – In order to attract manufacturer owned teams to take up the cost capping option, the FIA have decided to exclude engine costs for 2010 (only)

Ferarri’s threat to quit F1 if the £40m cap pursues

Ferarri is not quite among the happy teams with this issue.

My dear Kimi Raikkonen is not happy with this new FIA regulation. After his contract would expire on 2010, this cap might get him to quit F1. (no Kimi, NO!) He is worried that this would not be F1 anymore and there are a lot of question marks and that it is getting more and more difficult to get everyone happy.

There are just three drivers that I absolutely adore in Formula 1 right now:  Raikkonnen (my ultimate driver), Alonso (so young yet so good) and Button (for his good looks).  LOL IKR, you can’t blame me for being a fan because this F1 driver is pretty, I’m a girl after all!!! XP
[ad#hlink] Anyway, back to the sport itself.  Button got a lovely headstart as he won the Australian Grand Prix for 2009 woohoo!  I’d be happy if any of the 3 of my favorite drivers would win, but I’d be happiest when it’s Kimi Raikkonnen who won!  The Ferraries had trouble with their soft tires though.  Kimi placed 15th (sad sad) and Massa was out of the track when I turned on my TV.  Yes, I am not staying at  home for now and their TV does not have Star Sports >.<  Annoying much?  tell me about it!  But, not quite, because I had the excuse to go to my Rockstar’s house to watch it there myself.  Sadly though I only made it to the 4th lap wuwuwu…

Overall, the 1st race was adrenaline-driving not only to the drivers and their teams but to the audiences and fanatics as well like me XD.

It’s just crazy, anywhere we go along the streets of Marina bay, we could hear the “ZOOM” – ing of those Formula One cars!!!

Watching it in the TV is one thing… Sometimes it might seem dragging and boring…

But watching it LIVE, is the whole best thing! Even Vinz, who’s not F1 Fanatic, seemed to have glued his feet on the side ground and had his eyes on the track and to those Formula1 cars!

Oh, and if you’re planning to watch it live, make sure to buy the kit and have your earmuffs on!!! Because the action is so wild, the drifts are crazy, and your eardrums would just be overwhelmed with stardom Zoom!

I am loving this and this event tops my prom night and my 18th birthday!!! 😛

Day2

It’s the day of the most awaited Formula 1 Night Race here in Singapore and I’m one of the 100,000 who’s going to view the action live!!!

My legs are killing me from all the walk from one viewpoint to another but it’s all worth it seeing Kimi Raikkonen up close.

Final result of the game concluded Fernando Alonzo (2005 overall champion and the man who brought down Michael Schumacher on 1st place cruising through spot 15 on the grid to being the number 1! His drift is coming back and our street boy Alonzo did it this time!

On 2nd place is Rosberg and 3rd place goes to Lewis Hamilton.

The crowd went crazy when Kimi Raikkonen’s Formula 1 vehicle crashed into the walls of one tricky corner during the 3rd lap of the race.

Now I have uploaded the many pictures already… Thank you very much for being patient!  But, these are only day 1 pictures… I will document more on my Singapore / Formula 1 experience and my personal budget on how I made it fit to a 20,000 Php budget… ALL IN!
