Rockwell Tent glistened in color and shimmer as beauty, fashion, lifestyle bloggers and makeup lovers headed on to celebrate colour!

The venue made me miss my dear friend Mica who is currently in the UK, watching Viva Forever!  Unfair!  But I’m so excited and happy (and inggit) for her!  The tent was painted with vibrant UK colours.  Colours ranged frim highstreet hues of hot pink to London bus red and the golden sheen of the Beatles.  Plus, we got to shoot selfies of ourselves inside a photoboot 😛

One way to describe the Collection is that it is adventurous.  Browsing through the makeup sets and finally getting to have my own, made me conclude that this affordable makeup brand is great for those who are starting to play and experiment with makeup.  My blogger and makeup artist friend Bambi who was with me in the event guided me through her favorite items in the rack and that included the concealer (which I will also use soon) and their blush.

One thing I want to try is their BIG FAKE Mascara which you can buy only at P399.  I’ll tell you if it does what it promises!

The Kiss Contest!

Maybelline sponsored the Kissing contest.  They were looking for couples who were game to join the contest.  We didn’t know it was a kissing contest yet :P  As much as Vince and I were trying our best not to be seen by the organizers, they still found us for some reason… So there we are, we found ourselves on the stage with another couple and with the 3 boys of BNO.

They gave us Maybelline lipsticks and asked us to apply it on our lips…

Then the contest follows… whoever gives the most creative kiss will win Maybelline makeup!

We really didn’t know how to be creative but whatever we did, it worked 😛

So here you go guys… Our winning prize… Too bad only I could benefit from the price.  Poor V, didn’t get any… at least he’ll have a prettier girlfriend with these Maybelline products… Review soon!

It was such a waste since my aunts and my mom LOVE makeup so much that they buy almost every cool makeup there is in the world.  I often find makeup just scattered around and I played with it when I was a kid.  My mom would say… careful!!! Those are very expensive!!! did you know that that single eye shadow alone costs 1,000 + pesos?

I was such a tomboy when I was a kid!  I didn’t care about makeup and fashion… all I cared about was playing with my friends, homework, sports and dancing!  I would cry every time my mom would put makeup on me.

Even when I was working I didn’t really put a lot of makeup.  Then I realized that with what I’m doing now, I needed to take up some makeup class.

A friend of mine forwarded this to me an online poster about a makeup class locally.

I was like “What is this? and who is this?” He’s like, “I don’t know, just thought it sounds cool… and you were planning on studying basic makeup right?”

Then I realized that this was perfect… I did not want to study a whole course about professional makeup… I just wanted to know the basics etc… etc… just so that I can apply nicely on myself…

There I went without any makeup and brush and nothing at all… Cielo, my makeup teacher and owner of Oleic Fashion Gallery, lent me some of her stuff for the makeup.  Although, she recommends for her students to bring whatever makeup they have so that she can tell them what to do with what they have.

Anyway, good thing the class also includes some free makeup stuff… it included a liquid eye liner (yaye for this I was planning to buy one), pencil liner, multi-colored shimmer eye-shadow, shimmery eye shadow set for smokey eyes application.

 

Oleic Personal Make up Workshop

Anyway, to summarize the whole experience – in a day, I went to the class knowing NOTHING… at the end of the day… I knew EVERYTHING I had to know about applying makeup on myself.

I also knew what I can do for the extra makeup my mom had at home :)  Now, I experiment daily and practice on myself… I also need some makeup for the new TV Talk show that I am hosting “Tek Tok TV”.

Cielo also advised me on which kind of makeup and the shades that I need to use if I want to look good on camera 🙂

If you have noticed my pictures and blog posts recently, I have been putting makeup on 🙂 by myself! :D  I love it!

Of course, the makeup class was really very helpful since I am hosting “Tek Tok TV” (Tech Talk TV) on GNN Channel 21 Destiny Cable exclusive. ^_^

 

With this, I had a phobia in makeup.  It seemed like, no matter where I go and no matter who I hire, I look bad wearing makeup.  I would look like a clown!  Often, people will tell me “You look better without makeup on.”  I wasn’t sure if this is supposedly a compliment.  I mean, I look good even without makeup.  But still, the depth of the sentence doesn’t still seem right.  I have not captured my dances before.  This is a big regret since I don’t have any pictures nor videos to look into.  All of my long gone dancing days are just in my memory.

I carried this phobia until now, but one makeup artist really changed my mind about makeup.

No exaggeration…

For the first time, I felt comfortable with make-up.

For the first time, I can look into the mirror and say “I look prettier with makeup!”

For the first time, a heavy makeup complimented my features.

And it amazed me big time!

Unplugged Photoshoot.

Recently, I just had a photoshoot.  The pictures can’t be released though as we are reserving it for a very gnarly purpose!  Therefore, I can’t blog about it YET!  BUT!!! I was itching so much to blog about my makeup artist!  So here you go, this is just a sneak preview and I cannot release more pictures.  This is just one of the pictures of the behind-the-scenes.  We don’t want to expose too much footage so here you go.  Just me and the makeup and my twins (lol)

I had a few more other looks that I can’t blog about anymore.  But in all those looks, I looked pretty well.  Not only was my face made-up, they touched my hair as well!  These are just behind-the-scenes.  Will post more pictures and my different looks soon!

On Candy and Make-Up

I usually don’t buy my own make up.  I make use of whatever my mom and her sisters have.  They have tons of make-up from different brands that could kill my wallet and credit card and buy them myself.  I’d be exposed to these brands just because of them.

A lot of people tell me I look better without makeup.  It’s not that I don’t know how to apply them, but many say my face features are so strong and pretty that I don’t need make-up.  I had a fear of going to parlor shops before to have make-up applied on me.  They usually make me look like a geisha or a ghost or a clown no matter how professional and experienced the make-up artist is.  I often find myself going to the restroom, get some tissue, and remove some make-up and apply my own compact powder.

But that is not all true… I’d look more presentable if I put really light make-up and use natural colors that fit my skin.  The basic ones I use are just a compact powder, eyebrow brush (coz I have really thin hair on my eyebrow area), some gloss or lipstick (usually I’m allergic).  Sometimes, I could go to events and parties just with that.  But really, I make an effort to apply some heavy make-up when I party because if not, the guys would mistaken me as a high school girl. T__T

Now, that I have some little time for myself (on my control), I decided to explore the world of make up.  Sometimes, if I have the time, I’d go to my mom’s room (just like a curious 8-year-old girl) and explore all the cute little shiny glittery things on her personal dresser.  I think, make-up is just common sense.  If it looks good on you… it looks good on you!!! and you should know because you see your own face in the mirror.

Glambox Airbrush Demo

It was an eventful Saturday.  I slept really late from a party on a Friday night and I woke up at 2pm the next day (Saturday).  I browsed through my planner to add some tasks and there I saw – “Glambox Event at Astralis Powerplant.”  I gasped and I almost fainted as this was one event I was really looking forward to!  I thought the event was on **SUNDAY** oh noeezz…

Since, I really wanted to go to event, I stormed from Mandaluyong to Rockwell in an hour.  I showered, I wore the dress I first saw and raced my way to the event location.  By 3pm I was there… **phew** – then I realized… I had no make up at all!

“Hi guys, What did I miss”?” – I blushed.

Apparently, I missed Valerie’s talk but I didn’t miss the actual demo!

Probably the girls noticed that I didn’t have any make-up on and they made a demo on me.

Shen put some foundation on me using the Glambox Airbrush.  She did a pretty good job of applying the foundation on me!  It was a fast application as well and I must say my face looked really natural.  I don’t have the before picture of me because I forgot but I really looked horrible with bare eye bags (without concealer).  My face had no foundation and the little minute wounds from my facial the previous day were so apparent.  **faints**  Anyway, here’s my after picture with Cher and Jane who had the airbrush foundation as well.

See, the airbrush make-up looks really natural and is just right for my skin… I don’t look like a geisha, nor a ghost, nor a clown 🙂
