Are security tough with lenses. In Australia you arent allowed 300mm but they dont like big cameras and monopods. Some security are ok and some arent. I just want to bring a 5D and 70-200mm lens.

Just to let you know that i had a great time in singapore for the race, but had to leave when hamilton passed the winning line due to catching the train back to the airport.
Found out that the last train to the airport was 23.15pm, so i had to avoid the ques, but well worth the travel.

That was a hard one.

Anyway, I really miss this place.  The resto-bar is really called “Il Ponticello” but the people just call it “Ponti”. Aside form the good food, I always love the crowd here too.  It’s a temple for my dancing soul 🙂 I haven’t been here in a since we moved offices to The Fort.  I was so glad we came here for a pitstop.  This place is really known for its bar and night life.  But people don’t usually know that they have good Italian food here.  Well, I haven’t really tasted everything but I love the pizza and the pasta here!

It was a little bit salty for me, but I have tried other pizzas and I recommend the Four-Cheese Pizza!

Vince ordered the Onion Soup: Zuppa Di Cippole

It’s Onion soup with Mozarella and dipped bread.

Vince also ordered this.  He was in the mood for some lamb dish.

This is the Arrosto D’Agnello.  It’s a Roman specialty of over-baked leg of lamb in red wine sauce.

Now that is definitely Vince’s taste 🙂

Rev&Rave drink: Bacci made of Vodka, Tequilla and Orange

It’s a yummy drink and tastes just like juice :)  You’ll feel the alcohol kick in the middle though **oh lowdy**

I was feeling a little bit hyper because this was the night before my trip to KL.

This is also the drink that could give me (or you if you buy the same drink) a chance to be sent to Singapore to watch the F1 Signapore Grand Prix 2010!  You know why you want to go.  You would get to see the legendary Michael Schumacher or your other favorite F1 driver in the Parade of the Drivers before the race starts.

I watched the F1 Grand Prix before and saw my favorite F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen.  Watch this video and hear me scream.

Imagine you’re 5 meters away from Schumi… *faints* I haven’t seen him in person yet BTW and I’m hoping I would get a chance to win too.  It would be FAB!  I will tell my grand children all about him!!!

Not a fan eh?  You don’t have to be.  When I was in college, I wasn’t a fan of F1 but I thought it would be cool to see this most luxurious event LIVE.  I never thought I would ever really get to watch it live… I mean, tickets were expensive and you need to go out of the country!  But when they announced that they will have the first night race in Singapore, I really took the chance to watch it! Singapore is so near the Philippines and if you take advantage of the seat sales, you’d get cheaper tickets.  It’s an event you’d be proud you experienced.

F1 Signapore is a big feast.  You would also get to see stars performing mini-concerts around the area (included in the ticket).  So far, I have witnessed “The Wailers (THAT WAS THE BOMB) reggae love” and the Backstreet Boys.  This year, its the diva’s turn – that’s right Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, Adam Lambert (he’s a Diva, right?), also Daughtry and many more.

F1 Singapore Grand Prix Season FAQ #2:

Hi, I’m planning to go to the Singapore F1 this year and I`m considering the Bay Grandstand due to budget concerns. My cousin told me that the dark blue area at the very edge is nice so we can see the turn from the esplanade. What would you suggest to me since I read in your page that the dark green are the best seats. Hope to hear from you soonest. I plan to get my tickets already. Thanks so much! 🙂

and my reply:

I was actually seated at the yellow seats but I frequently walked around to get a better view of the F1 cars.  So, no matter where you sit, you can still do this.  The best seats for me are still the dark green ones at around rows 1-10, but I also went to the dark blue area to take photos of pictures in the esplanade turn.

no grills:) there’s a tiny whole in there where you can squeeze your camera in… but I’m not sure if this year they put more grills there.

Look at the happy monkey… I’m a poser!

The first night race held in Singapore, there would be one on Conrad Centennial. This event is attended by the drivers/racers, sponsors, international models and even some hollywood celebrities and musicians – gathering together to wine and dine.  I absolutely want to rub shoulders with these VIPs and meet Kimi Raikkonen up close but it costs 500 euros. Yeah, I can’t afford it for now. I just wish I could win a free pass somewhere, or someone could give me one. This definitely is an addition to my list of things-to-do-before-I-die.

F1 in Manila

Really? F1 in the Philippines? NOT!  Uhmmm… NO!?!

But hypothetically speaking, let’s just say the Philippines made a bid to host the Formula 1 in the Philippines (c’mon we can dream, can’t we), and it is a *street circuit* too like the one in Singapore, I say they would either use the SM Mall of Asia grounds or The Fort.  Or just build a strong track in Subic… Or do we already have a nice track in Subic? not sure…

Anyway, that means we should also have Amber Lounge 🙂 and if ever we do have one, Amber Ultra Lounge is a candidate!

I love being in this club.  The ambiance suits my party soul and the crowd is chic and hip!  I took a pitstop in this bar before I left for Malaysia and guess who I saw… My former officemate Martin who also was a Candy Cutie before!  I hope he’s not reading this, or else I’m dead lol

And since this is very much related to everyone, I have decided to post questions that my readers ask me through email.  I will censor their name (or change it of course) just for their own privacy… Anyway, these will be helpful to you too if you are watching the Formula 1 Grand Prix LIVE in Singapore!

Hi,
I found your website and really love your F1 photos. I am coming to Singapore for in Grand Prix week this year. Currently looking at options for tickets and choosing between Bay Grandstand and Premier Walkabout which you can still get from Australia thru agencies. Do you have any opinions on the differences if I may ask?

I am a very keen photographer and want to apply for access.

Have you had media access before because some of your shots look much better than what you can get here at the Grand Prix in Melbourne. I am actually a freelance photographer trying to break into motorsport and follow my passion of F1!

I didn’t get a media pass went I went to Singapore.  I was hoping to get one but you need to get one as early as January for the passes.

As for the tickets… I took the Bay Grandstand tickets before and I say there is a corner there where you can take advantage and take pictures with especially on the Friday’s practice and Saturday qualifying.  There are too many people on Sunday so it won’t be likely for you to get any decent shots.

I really can’t compare premiere walkabout vs Bay grandstand because I haven’t gone to Zones 1 and 2 during the event yet.  But premiere walkabout means you can only walk around and you won’t have elevated platform to take pictures with.  Although, the only advantage of this is that you can roam around the “Elite” areas and you might bump into important celebrities (and even the drivers themselves).  The disadvantage is that you might not be able to get a good shot of the buzzing cars.
