The Root of Happiness

It’s a difficult time for everyone. One way or another, during this pandemic, you might have felt anxiety, loneliness, and fear.

How do we deal with this?

We were taught many things in school. We were taught how to manage time. But they forgot how to teach how to manage energy, manage expectations, and control emotions.

When I am confused, I do a lot of reading. When I read about happiness, one word gets attached to it somehow – loneliness.

I stumbled upon an article that says, there are seven types of loneliness.

I got an excerpt from that article.

To be happy, we need intimate bonds; we need to be able to confide, we need to feel like we belong, we need to be able to get and give support. In fact, strong relationships are key — perhaps the key — to a happy life.

It makes a lot of sense. Sometimes, I could not understand how I feel. But I really take time to figure it all out.

One of my fears is to be alone. No support system, no place where I belong, no one to comfort and be comforted, no one to share happy moments. All the achievements mean nothing when you have no one to share it with.

Sometimes, you can’t do anything about it. So what do you do instead?

All I know is, you have to take care of your relationships. It’s all that matters.

Give and receive. Find that balance.
